How do you build intimacy with a partner who is stoic or emotionally reserved?

My husband is emotionally reserved by nature, it's just the way he was raised, and perhaps with some influence from his career in the military.

I just want to know any tips or techniques or examples from those who are emotionally reserved themselves?

I myself am a very talkative, expressive person, so this is a hard one for me to understand naturally.

Get em drunk and force conversation until you end up staying up al night talking about nonsense. Then you will have a basis for more conversation
