I am comfortably numb. It's highly unlikely I will ever suffer through heartbreak again.

Slowly and calmly. Their will be quite a while that you will hurt, but it will make you stronger... things like that always do in the end.

Shut it down and build a wall around it

Gently. Just remember you won't always feel like that. Sometimes you look at the person later and think what the hell was i thinking?

You sweep up the little bits, use a dustpan and put them in the trash. You clear out that empty space, crying usually helps clean it really well. Then you dry it with some sunshine from going outside for a walk. While you are out on your walk you think (not of the past and that person but) of all the things you would like to do to improve yourself. The things that you put to the side because you were involved with another person. You focus on you. When you focus on you, you build a strong heart in place of the old one. That is how I dealt with a broken heart. Good luck to you.
