Resolved Question

How do you explain to your pets the time change?

My dogs were up at 4 am this morning, ready to go, and my cat is knocking everything off my desk begging for dinner an hour early.

When you find out, let me know.

I have two watch dogs, wrist watch dogs. Feeding, walking, play times are all off and in the wrong direction. lol.

Strangely this is the worst its been since we have had them.
Even the cat is more vocal about it.

seriously, let me know.

animals do not run to the silly times we human beings decide to inflict on ourselves. they are in tune with nature, not clocks.

If your dog is a German Shephard and your cat a Siamese your looking at having to learn two new languages - probably more effort than its worth.

I sit them down and say we need to talk. Then I begin by showing them one of those huge preschool clocks. Now they can tell the time on their own and often need to remind me to set my clock forward or backward.

you gotta try and keep them active a bit later into the night.. so they don't sleep a long time before you all go to bed. Just like a kid...
go for a walk tonight.. a bit later than normal and give them some exercise.

The cat is a bit harder... you may have to lock the cat out of your room at night if they are too active. Unless you can walk your cat! That would be pretty neat if you could!
Hope that helps!

That's not good. I am sorry to hear this. I think they will adjust with the light of the day. It could be the full moon in Taurus as well. They don't call it lunancy for nothing~! LOL, My cat was bizarre last night as he always is on a full moon.

You won't have to if you just move to a state that doesn't mess with their clocks twice a year... then neither of you have to deal with it!
