I believe that when two people love each other, regardless of gender, they should have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us...

i think that if you're against gay marriage, then don't marry a gay person. people need to mind their own fu**ing business.

I think people should be allowed to do what they want to do, as long as it doesn't infringe on other people's basic rights as a human being. If gays want to get married let them get married. I don't know why people care so much when it does not affect them at ALL.

There shouldn't be a difference between "gay rights" and "civil rights". If they pay their taxes, they should get exactly the same rights as everyone else.

Sure, the bible defines marriage as being between a man and a woman. But where the hell is the separation of church and state there? This is not a Christian nation, whether some want it to be or not, and people need to deal with that, and quit shoving their dogma down our collective throats.

I'm all for it. Marraige is supposed to be a sacred bond between two people who are madly in love. Honestly, who gives a **** whether or not they're man and woman, man and man, or woman and woman. If you're in love than that should not only be a priviledge, but a ******* right

I agree. If homosexuals are not allowed to be married, then their Constitutional rights are being violated. Plus, any two people who are in love should have the right to be married. It's not like they love each other any differently than straight people do.

I'm not too into the Idea of ANY legal marriage, other than the tax benefits and all, I don't see much point in it... Marriage shouldn't have anything to do with Legalities.. It's a Union of 2 people that love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together.. I believe though that any people that want to marry each other should have that option, I for one would never tell 2 consenting adults that their love for each other is wrong.

i'm not a fan of marriage anyway. it often ends in disaster. but i think that if you really want to get/be married then it is silly for it to be illegal to do so. really... we have more important issues to deal with.

Hey, less competition against me. ****, I'd hang out with that kind of married couple, if they were cool, they attract chicks.

To me it's a matter of personal choice and what in a persons life makes them happy. If you can be happy in a same sex relationship that is considered a legal marriage then that's okay with me.

I belong to a religion that is not in agreement with my opinion on this matter nor do they agree with my thoughts on abortion so, oh well for them.

No.

Marriage was created as an institution in which a man and a woman could legally be recognized as together. It was designed to aid a couple in identifying themselves as married with a mark on their hand, a wedding band that each wears willingly so that all would understand, "I'm married."

Second, marriage was built into the tax laws to create a benefit of a corporation of 2, that eventually leads to children. The tax laws allow for a tax deduction for their marriage, being that, often, one income is supporting 2 people or more. It is expected, by natural causes, that a man and woman in wedlock will have children. Therefore, there is a spousal tax deduction as well as a child tax deduction.

Gay marriage is wrong for a couple of reasons (leaving out the moral implications): The first is that it is well known that gay relationships produce disease (AIDS). Bi-relationships can spread this disease to a non-homosexual spouse, who then can give it to the children.

Second of all, two men, and two women together cannot have children by natural causes. Either infidelity or adoption is necessary to have children. And to give a tax break to gay couples as well as traditional married couples is preposterous. Homosexuality is not natural. Period. And expensive (psychological treatment, research to cure an avoidable disease, confusion in children, child abuse...the list goes on and on and on).

Those are the real hard facts. The moral implications are that God specifically stated in the Bible that it was wrong. It's not just an Old Testament thing, it's not just a New Testament thing, and it's not just a Christian ideal. He created a plan for us that, for our own good, we should abide by. He told us that if we didn't follow those plans, there would be natural causes and severe consequences for those who didn't. The consequences are obvious, don't you think?

I believe what the Bible says: for a man to lay down with another man is an abomination unto the LORD...but what you do you will have to answer to on Judgement Day...what I believe really don't matter..your fate is up to GOD..and what I believe certainly isn't going to make it legal..seems like even things that are morally wrong are being allowed so...whatever!

I feel that a person has the right to live their life any way they choose and that it is not within the rights of the government to say what they can and cannot do.

The main backing keeping gay marriage from being in the laws is the bible. Bible thumpers say their god says being gay is wrong. Seperation of Church and State was one of our founding father's cornerstones for the creation of America. They created our country where everyone can live free and equal. The same applies now, so why is it we treat the gays as though they are not as equal as straights? I am straight, I have my personal opinions on the matter, but those do not apply. They have the same right to marry as any straight couple, because the bible does not apply to law, and everyone is equal. so they should be allowed to marry.
