How do you get nail polish out of clothes?

Here is what I would do. Go to your local shoe story and purchase some of that water repellent you spray on boots. It takes out super glue out even (don’t ask) Test on an area that isn’t readily seen to make sure the article is color fast. If so then spray the repellent on the clothing and let it sit for 5 or 6 minutes. You should be able to pick the mail polish off at that point. Wash it out thoroughly with cool water and then launder as normal and your clothing should be as good as before.

You run a risk if the garment is synthetic that it will melt if you use nail polish remover so be careful no matter which option you choose. I have ruined a lot of clothing with nail polish remover.

Whatever you try, test it on an inconspicous area first to make sure it doesn't take any color out with it. Nail polish remover is basically acetone with fragrance added. If that doesn't work, you can try MEK (methyl ethyl ketone, if it's available where you live), or, as a last resort, paint remover (a water-based type would be best).
