How do you get over someone?

For me, it was a gradual process....don't try and force it....it will happen naturally. Things you can do to help things along, would be get rid of pictures...don't listen to "your songs"....anything around, that reminds you of them, pack it up and put it away for a while....you'll be able to look at it one day, without the pain...or the longing..

And don't forget, to give yourself permission, to have some fun...go out with friends, tap into your support system....

You learn to let go...

Realize that the past is the past, nothing can change it. The only thing you can do is learn from it. When you think of the past and how it hurts you, you are the one letting yourself be hurt. Growth comes from the inside and goes outwards -- smile at the past, realize that it can not hurt you: YOU are the one with the CHOICE whether to be hurt or not. Identify your mistakes and learn from them, change yourself for the better so that next time you might get it right.

Also realize that the relationship is dead for a reason, and if things were good, then you would not be in this position.
