How do you give love without people thinking your too needy?
When I give love or do something nice for someone I do it cause it makes me feel good. If it wasn't overstepping social boundaries I'd hug every 3rd person I saw. I notice how some people build up a bit of resentment cause they feel obligated to return the favor when they don't want to or maybe they just find it strange that someone they don't know shows an act of kindness. Do I need to start adding a quick "don't feel obligated" after each kind deed?

Nah! But there are other ways to show your love/appreciation....some people don't like hugs as it invades their person space...I personally love them!

A smile...a rub on the shoulder....a nice word or compliment....these are things that I use...

Giving love doesn't mean that you are needy. It means that you care and respect and, as such, the best thing would be to give 'time' to that person....

ps...keep on keeping on being a nice person...

A lot of people get very cynical, some of them with good reason. If they're used to any sign of affection having strings attached it's hard for them to see things differently.

I don't think that way at all, so feel free to hug me anytime!

No - don't add it. It is implied by the good deed.

There are so many miserable people in life who want to drag you down to their level of miserableness rather than come up to your level of love. If they act like dumdums when you hug them, just smile and let them be. They will still be miserable but you don't have to be.

Oh no, it's ok. Being helpful to everyone that needs a hand is very fine. It's normal for anyone to think they should return the favor back. For someone thinking that, is showing their kindness and wanting to return back on the same level. They do know that they don't have to, and could feel that they should do something like you did. If someone that you have been kind to comes to you to return the favor, you can say something nice back to fend the offer. It would still show you are kind in helping and nice in talking to the person you favored.

As long as you don't use the help to ask for a favor or throw your assistance in their face later, then keep on doing what you are doing. If it makes you feel good and you are not putting yourself or your family in dire straits to do so ... I say have at it! I'm glad there are still people like you out here in the world.

Peace and Much Love to you.
