How Do You Imagine The Best School In The Future?

My Version: Our vast, contemporary systems force us to squeeze our feet into a pair of one-size-fits-all shoes, and our minds into conventional thinking. We do NOT TEACH young minds in schools to experience life, but we TRAIN them to serve our gigantic arftificial systems that do not serve any real individual, but an imaginable collective prototype.

We fight for our own point of view forgetting that every creature has its own truths stemming from its unique existence, and perception of that existence. In this age of rapid communication, we can reach one another almost instantly, anywhere in the world. But for all that, we do not understand each other any better than millennia ago.

While encouraging our personal creative abilities, we still need to learn the basic principals of communicating with each other and nature. We shall learn how to be more innovative and intuitive facing the world which is new and different, in every instant. CAN OUR SCHOOLS/COLLEGES be more like sustainable peaceful communities, not factory-like institutions, but open forums engaging students in all kinds of creative thinking and mutual self support? Can a new school practice inspirational and sustainable community living, while students are inventing their own architecture, infrastructure, taking care of their own farm, sound small businesses, like bakeries, shops or theaters, right on premises?

Would this be great for a change to experience the full spectrum of better, more meaningful life in your school?

You already describe the best school:
    open, creative, communicative, practical, fruitful...
But who can design it in details?
How to get consentment for applying all over
the world with new teachers, new administration,
    new operation?
I think that all may become reality in about a century
with new, mature, peaceful, sincere human race.
This cannot come by the will of the present educators,
but by more and more individuals who learn to live
as rational, intelligent, and progressive human beings.
Then the new generations will have their ideal
educational system in each village and everywhere
    on the planet.
Education is not to issue degrees (real and false),
but to create truly knowledgeable servants of all mankind.
This is not my theory, but it is reality in its advancing process.
All praise be to new, sincere and responsible educators.

Thank you for your thoughtful post. I think that we can try building schools of this kind starting today, but again, as you putt it well, it depends on our own choice.....

If Governor Christie has his way--125 students per teacher, teachers chained to their desks, Catholicism taught every hour on the hour.
