How do you keep your email inbox tidy?

I seem to struggle with keeping tidy (or deleting the unnecessary) the plethora of emails that I get in my yahoo inbox. Because there are some emails that are important to me and I want to keep, I therefore cant delete them all (easy), and cant be bothered going through and deleting them one by one (hard - it's a little out of hand, now, there are well over 1,000 emails there.... ).

Tips anyone?

Right with Vortex. Folders are a gift from the gods for an anal retentive twit like me.

I have several email addresses. One is a sacrificial email - I use that to register at most websites, in anticipation they might send spam or sell my address.

My 'real' address, used for official business and family, is lovely and clean.

I don't. Search is wonderful and getting better and better.

The only really way I tidy it up is to large numbers of messages to Yearly mailboxes I make.

I send everything to outlook and apply "rules". You can find it in the extra menu.
