How do you learn to accept you may be single forever?

being single forever is something you choose...so there's no need to "learn to accept it" when you've decided it for yourself.

Wake up in the morning and accept everything that comes!

I think that ultimately it is your choice to be single or not. Maybe you feel like you're too old or too over weight or there is just no good men/women left or whatever other circumstances make you feel like no one will ever love you but this is your choice to let these things stop you from finding someone. I can't imagine ever letting anything or anyone ever stop me from hoping and looking for true love. I've been hurt and I've been with stupid people but just because they were bad doesn't make me bad and it sure doesn't mean I have to suffer without love for the rest of my life because of whatever they did. I hope you get a good answer here.. I'm struggling with this one myself.. I guess I've had plenty of practice now, but it still bothers me. I think it's something that takes a lot of distraction to avoid.. I'm not sure there IS a way to just accept it.. I try to stay busy and hope I don't have too much time to dwell.

When i don't let anyone be a part of mylife and be independent forever... My aunt is one of them she is now on her 60's and single. It is the life she chooses. :)

How do you learn to accept you may be single forever? by having two divorces behind you, then give thanks every day by putting your feet up on the coffee table and eating pot noodle dressed only in vest and boxers.

I think if you want to be single forever, you will and you will accept it because you have made the decision to be single.

I definitely believe that being single forever is a choice. I myself who is now getting out of a very hurtful relationship will heal in time and begin to look again. Somewhere out there she is and I will cherish her always when I do find her.

If you're wanting to be single forever, then you'll be. It doesn't seem like that's what you want though, you're just wanting acceptance. We all struggle from time to time with that, enjoy being single and work on yourself.

I don't think you should even try accept it if you don't want to be.If it ends up that way so be it ,but never accept it.

No man (or women) is truly single who has friends. They'll always be there for you when you need them. Also, you're never truly single until the end. Who knows, it could be a day before you die and that special someone you had a crush on back in highschool could suddenly burst into the room and say I love you!...well okay that's not probably but you never know...just don't lose faith :)

Being single is NOT always by choice.
Due to family interferance when I wanted to marry my special girl at 18,we were parted by my mother while I was at work,and I have never found my love again.
Having become an alchoholic for around 25 years as a result of that,I am now sober for the last 15 years,I am now looking on the internet for a mate,but am now unsure of myself,as I have not dated since her,so know nothing about dating anymore.
Believe me,being single is not easy,and finding the right girl is a lot harder when you get into your 60's.

Just don't accept that and quit saying it and thinking it. The power of our words and thoughts can and do take control over us.

I'm getting old. I "feel" the same way. I don't see a future or any body in it or know how to find it. But I will not accept...single forever. I have alot to offer despite the chinks in my armor. I won't give up even though i feel like giving up. Some day I won't feel like giving up.
