Due to the bad economy, more adult children are having to move back in with their parents. Having multiple generations under one roof is getting to be more common.

Think about it this way: what if you died tomorrow? What if your mother died tomorrow? Would these little disagreements seem so important?

Look at this situation as an opportunity to build a better relationship with your mother, because life is short. Our family exists to teach us the skills necessary for dealing with people.

Many other countries have had multiple generational households for centuries, and they get along just fine. Maybe this bad economic situation will help teach us how to connect with each other again, and forget the petty crap. We're definitely long overdue.
