You don't, maybe you aren't shy, just reserved. It's just part of your personality. Some people are outgoing, some are reclusive.

Post naked photos on the net of your self. No please don't only joking, I use to be shy but it went away by boosting my own self confidence.

I gave up on that a long time ago. You just have to have friends who see u for who you really are and not let it get to you.

Being shy can stem from alot of things. But let's just skip all that reasoning--because knowing why and learning how to overcome it are really two different things. I mean if its insecurities who wants to constantly remind themselves they are insecure? If you do, it will only become your excuse to stay the way you are.

So.......

Start by talking to other people in small amounts throughout the day. This might be co-workers and even just small talk with strangers. Try to focus the attention on them which takes the pressure off of you. When I first moved to a new town, I went to Starbucks. I heard the barista say she liked a certain band. I mentioned I did too and asked her what other bands she liked. I left there feeling good about myself and I bet I made her day a little more pleasant too. This is a small step but it helps you build confidence to start tackling larger social situations.

The more you start to build connections with people, the more confidence you will have in yourself.

This isn't going to happen overnight so don't be critical of yourself if you aren't the social butterfly right away. Changing a part of your personality thats been apart of you for years--well you aren't going to do a 180 overnight. But just remember you are an awesome person. Let people get to know the real you.

A person is only shy because they lack confidence, Firstly you must believe in your self and abilities, And realise you are as good as anyone else.
Then you can build confidence and the shyness disappears.

I was very shy as child but from things i seen and learnt and the actions of others ,i sarted to speak up for myself ,and as i did confidence developed and so by time i was 14-15 i was not shy any longer and over the years confidence builds stronger.

I agree with all the above. There's a difference between being shy and being reserved. I used to be shy, was always scared to say anything, now I'm not shy anymore, but I am a reserved person. Of course there are always going to be people who constantly point that out and make you feel inferior. Don't let them get to you. Be around positive, supportive people.
