I should have asked this question. But it is so much easier to tell some one else something than take your own advice. First, get rid of whatever destroyed your self- confidence to begin with. I'm old enough to know that no man can hurt me like my mother and the other women I let into my life. I stole this line from HUNG on HBO--I swear on my mother's lack of love that my lack of confidence is because she only liked me when I was a mess--like five and crying that no one liked me and she hugged me and four months later when everyone liked me she said, "your teacher told me you were bossy." Do that for about twenty years and wonder about self-confidence. Hang with men. They aren't nuts and they like you.

The best thing i've found is make yourself get out there. Smile at random people, establish and maintain eye contact. Talk to one person you don't know a day, even if it's just 'hi how are you'. They're little things, but they'll make you appear more confident, which people pick up on. In return, they'll be more confident with you, and that will boost your actual confidence.

I'm working on it myself. Slow process, but i think it's working.

Do things that you are good at, and make them better. Work out, smile more. Start doing things that help boost your self esteem. Wear something a little sexy every now and then. Learn new things, be daring try something you normally would not.

In my situation I took myself away from society and did a self reflection period for myself. I looked at what was wrong with my life and thought about ways of fixing them. I also threw away toxic people. It took me three months but I am now more confident (not completely) still shy but more outspoken. It might be different for you but although hard to get away from people at first it helped me. Always start with reflecting though.

Force yourself to do the things that you used to do. Exercise. Go to school. Re-visit old friends. Make something that is useful to you.

And, well, you don't do it when you "feel like it." You probably will never feel like it.

I wear a Nike T-shirt that says, "Just Do It!"

Takes alot of time Im afraid,
Im doing it now.
Know that you are awesome
Who cares what anyone else thinks, If its bad then they need to get a life.
Each of us have qualities, Dont hide them from us
Get cockyish, If someone gives you a funny look know that they are being a ****, laugh at them, act like you dont care, keep doing or saying whatever it was that made them give you a funny look unless whatever is offensive.
No one actually cares. Get off on your own inner strength, find it and grab it. Get some meditation cds or you can get them on limewire (confidence meditation) you have to believe for yourself.
You will fall, get back up and you'll fall less hard everytime till you get there, be pacient with you.
Youll be fine!!

Confidence comes from how others perceive you. Choose friends that are supporting and see the good in you! :)

Set goals to achieve new things, even if they are small to start with. Like swimming more lengths, running more, writing better stories, whatever you feel passionate about.
