I'm always heard that you should use a spray bottle with water in it.

Spread some black pepper on the counter. After a few times of sniff and sneeze they stop.

This sounds like a plan worth trying. I actually have a LOT of pepper.

it's a trick. You need to first make the kitchen surfaces unappealing to a cat. So i would suggest duct tape folded up so sticky side is up. They hate tape!
and then make an area for them to play in the kitchen get a cat tree cats like to be up high or a shelf and put treats on it for them (i have two cats sorry) it takes a bit of time but if you make the area you want the kitten to be at appealing to them. with treats toys attention they want and make the counters not fun feeling not easy to like Tape you should only have to do the tape for a few weeks kittens learn fast!

I don't have that problem, but I have heard a spray bottle of water works wonders. Just a slight spritz and they stop jumping. It may take one or two times, but they learn fast.

All these are too complicated or just silly. If you don't want it to jump... simply break its legs... problem solved...

Well I've been thinking of putting smartie tubes on it's legs. (do they still come in tubes?)

Its a kittennn!!.. =) I had many . You cant right now ..keep it busy somewhere else redirect its playfulness to another room with things that keep it occupied. Give it attention and and it will be too tired to botherjumping up there. =) good luck

Mousetraps set and placed upside down. (Use new clean ones silly). If you can lay out a bunch so that one bouncing will set off another it can scare them enough to keep them away.
Also, cats are climbers by nature, if they don't have a mutually acceptable high surface to go to, they will use whatever they can find.

Just train him, using a squirt bottle with water, for when he does it, he will get the message.

baseball bat is a guaranteed solution. However, the spray bottle with water will work as well... just takes a few more times. ;)

I think the baseball bat might be just a tad more permanent than she's thinking....I would guess that you are not a strong cat lover. :)

Not downward strokes-- SIDE SWIPES. Seriously, do you know how hard it is to clean cat off of a counter when you splat them...?

Keep a spray bottle of water handy. Squirt her when she does that, or claws the couch, etc.

well the only sure way...get rid of the cat....otherwise..start getting used to having the cat everywhere and on everything. you adapt to their world, not the other way around.

Yes..but cats love to climb up and have a view..so it is a whole different thing. Going potty is, well a no brainer....cats are easy to train for that.
