I went to a catholic school in grades 1-3, I spoke with a sibilant S and was so blind I had to sit in he front row and squint my eyes with my fingers to see the chalkboard. I attended public school for the first time in the 8th grade and within the first week they had me in speech therapy and wearing glasses
I don't have a speech impediment and my confidence is already in the toilet
It would be difficult. And it WOULD dent my confidence.
I'd keep trying though, thinking that one day either I would cure my stutter or the hurt-feelings
