Resolved Question

How do you view feminists?

This is an honest question and NOT meant to attack anyone. I am asking men AND women how they view feminists. As for me, I considered myself a feminist all the way through high school, and stopped when I got to college. The women in the Feminist Alliance honestly made me sick. There are so few "nice" guys out there who will do little sweet things like hold a door open, and they would seriously yell at any guy who did anything considerate. (Then they would turn around and complain that they couldn't find a boyfriend.) The way they insulted and belittled men just came across as another form of sexism to me and since then I have not liked feminists. How do you feel?

[EDIT] Since this question is upsetting some people, I'm closing it. Forcemarch has the most votes, so he is getting the "best answer" award. Thanks for your contributions.

I think regular feminists are just fine. I'm all for COMPLETE equal rights, although that really hasn't occured yet. Radical feminists can all go to hell. I mean that sincerely.

Now getting back to equality for all...I'd like to see equality not just in the job market (wages) but also along social aspects. In my opinion as with other males there really isn't equality today between males and females. Women have more privledges and choices becasue they are women and because of this male thing called chivalry. Women are not required to register for the selective service (the draft), like the males have to by law. Why is that? Oh sure but females have a CHOICE to join the service ...if they want to. I was in the service, Males are required to have their hair cut ultra short for sanitary reasons, the women? No. Women in the service (I've seen it first hand) are given lighter duty less risky and less physical jobs then the males. Equality? no.

85% of child custody cases are awarded by the courts to women. 60-75% initiate divorces.

Radical Fems claim all or most men are rapists. I don't think so. Female sex offenders are given special treatment/lighter sentences ... Debra LaFavre

Men don't have a Presidential Council of Men ...do we? How about Title IX?
Men only school scholarships? Nope
Conception rights? Nope

Men only acquire only 40% of all college degrees now...

Ask any young guy nowdays about why he is putting off marraige.....Feminism killed chivarly.

Equal rights = equal responsibility If this is what a feminist believes in, then I'm all for it.

I used to think I was one, but the more I think about it, a true feminist is somone who wants to actually do the things a man does. I just want to have the right to do them, if I choose! I certainlt do NOT want to be drafted, if that ever came about, etc... I think more of the women who say they want to be one better think about things like this!

You can't talk of feminists as if it was a sect. Feminism means reclaiming one's voice. I want to be able to become whoever and whatever i feel i may become. I hate stereotypes, they make our lives dull.
Now once people get together, they may get sectarian, but all in all, the world need more feminists, not fewer of them. We need to deconstruct customs and ideologies that alienate any type of people. This does not mean creating gender / cultural segregation, quite the contrary.
Now about being ugly, bitter, and single if you're a feminist, how's that for a stereotype?
But yeah, sticking to one's rights is costly, it might still be easier to find someone if you're ready to become their dog.
