Depends, getting young minds and educating them on social values and getting parents to parent properly could have some effect Im sure every bit helps how ever minimal the result. Educating those who have to enforce the laws and deal with certain situations to do with crime in the best upto date skills ect Im sure have prevented potential crimes.Education opens more opportunities and certainly gives a person more options other than a life of crime.

Education ABOUT crime, why it occurs, where it occurs and how to prevent it certainly helps to understand it.. the more education you have about a topic the better prepared you are to deal with it..

Education in general can teach you problem solving, reasoning, adaptability, how to evaluate situations and how to be self reliant. You learn what resources are available to you (for whatever your goals are) and how to access them. Not just with crime/crime prevention etc. but with any life experience the more educated you are the better opportunities you have available and you are more equipped to deal with any situation that arrises. Of course it depends on the QUALITY of education and you're own EFFORT and INTEREST you have in educating yourself. IMO people avoid opportunities to better educate themselves because of a lack of understanding and fear of being exposed in their ignorance.

I have seen all the drug free programs happen in elementary and middle school but by the time they get to high school it all depends who they get involved in. All the programs they were taught are no longer remembered.

Education leads to better jobs which leads to better employment which leads to better salaries which leads to money in the bank which leads to contentment.

Education also keeps kids in school and off the streets.

Education teaches you common sense and your IQ is more enhanced which helps you make better decisions.

Education is in schools.. schools are where you meet peers who are also in the process of being educated.. which mean educated friends... which means smarter friends... which means smarter actions and behaviours.

    Education really does prevent crime.
