I haven't formally done it. I have used a meditation technique I found on the internet which I feel is based on similar methods.<br />

If there is a situation causing me intense anger & I can't get passed it I use this meditation technique.<br />
<br />
I relax into a meditative state, relaxing out my body, releasing my thoughts, stilling the mind. I allow myself to feel the anger. I let it flow through me & I know not to be afraid of it here or not to push it away, as I am in control & can come out any time if I need to. I go a little further into feeling the passionate anger. I use pictures in my mind to imagine what I would do to the person if I could. In my case I imagined swearing at them & sending the black energy that was inside of me at them as a smokey black evil looking energy. I soon realized these people were aggressive & could always match me, if not beat me, that's why they had hurt me.<br />

Then I tried giving them kindness & compassion. They hated me more, as they actually hated themselves & I understood. I visually cleansed them from any bad energy from me & in my meditation I walked away from them forever. I let it go & I understood now that they were the ones who were suffering & taking their sadness out on me. All I could ever do is learn when to walk away.<br />

That's my example. That is self hypnosis. I assume the results would be faster with a professional, but I have trust issues, so I use this method if I need to.<br />

A warning: Using this method brings up intense emotions & after it is over it can take a while for the feelings to pass through. I was shaking for a couple of days after the first one, & full of the intense rage. I had to feel what I had pushed inside of me & it wasn't easy. After it passed a couple of days later, I felt a literal weight had lifted from my shoulders where I was having problems with pain from tension I couldn't let go of. I felt more well after that. It works, you have to be prepared to be strong for a bit, it is a very intense experience. I assume this method works for any stuck emotions? My issue was repressed rage, so I had to do that.

short answer. Hypnosis works like this (a am a hypnotherapist) <br />

You have two sides of your mind. Subconscious and counscious<br />
<br />
Your conscious mind is the mind you delibreately think with and will best relate to as an internal dialoge you think of as me!<br />
<br />
Your subconscious mind is what learns and stores information similar to a computer. It works from the moment you are born. Its two primary functions are to survive and then reproduce. what ever your subconscious mind learns we class as habbits or beliefs.<br />

for example<br />
It stores wether or not you have good self -esteem. If as a kid you were constantly teased or made fun of and not loved by your parents your subconscious mind would of learnt 'i am a terrible person' and then this will become your belief and give you low self-esteem.<br />
Your subconscious mind learns from experience of living. When something happens more than once it starts to store it. If it happens loads it will become a belief.<br />

When you learn to drive you have too think about everything. the gears, the rev's, the mirrors. after a few years you can do it automaticlly because your subconscious mind has learnt this.<br />

If you smoke when stressed your subconscious mind learns this too. So when you become stressed your subconscious mind say 'have a cigarette.<br />

With hypnotheray we will hypnotise someone which is rougthly this. <br />

We will relax them to change their brainwaves. This will by pass there CCF or conscious critical faculty (basically the conscious mind) The sub conscious 99% of the time wins over the conscious. this is why will power is difficult when it comes to stopping smoking or being confident. Once this CCF is by pass our words can go straight into their subconscious change their beliefs. We will also do other things with them like yousing visualizations with them to aid this process. <br />

If they went for hypnotherapy for say self-esteem we will change there belief to make them BELIEVE they love them selfs. AND THEY WILL. if they came for smoking we would make them believe they are a non-smoker.<br />

Regression is similar. Once the CCF is bypass memories of child hood event can become clearer. All though we have to be aware of 'fake memories' where the imagination is at play.<br />

I've only just started doing this but I have had a couple people hypnotize me already and its awesome seeing what happens and what changes in me.
