I got rid of mine by being forced into a job doing public presentations. The first 3 days were bad, but once I relaxed, it got a lot easier. Now I am no longer afraid of what others think of me and can speak well to anyone.
Just ALWAYS focus on the other person.......ask questions, take an interest in them, and they will take an interest in YOU.
Act as if you are NOT shy......acting's a great way to help with shyness......as a matter of fact, some of our best actors are really shy people offscreen or stage....they always say that when they are acting, they don't have to worry about being themselves!!!
So if you ACT AS IF you aren't shy, it could help.
But always thinking about the other person is a big help, too!!!
What do you feel makes you shy, any situation worse than others?
according to drill instructors , walk the walk and talk the talk and act like ya got a pair .
Practise and lots of hard work... and I think you only ever manage to cover up your shyness, you never really are cured!!
