talking to my friends, and let the tears come up. I think I cried enought to save California from its water crisis. It has been almost five months. I've realized that he will always have a special place in my heart and I want him to be happy. However, I'm over him and everything we use to be. I don't want him anymore but I do want someone to love and love me in return. I'm shy and it is extremely hard. How do I get out of my shyness and allow people in? I need to be happy too. Please someone respond by an opinion or suggestion.

You just said at the top of your paragraph that you got "over" him by talking to friends and letting tears flow. Right? Well follow the same formula. All you did was be vulnerable with friends. That's exactly how to find the love you claim to be seeking. Shyness is not vulnerable. Shyness is a defense against vulnerability, an effort. You make an effort to be shy, and drop the effort to be vulnerable, to let emotion flow.

Be soft, drop the shyness (which you already know how to do) and do this with friends. Friendship & vulnerability = love. When you do this, you become love, not "shy". This is what attracts someone similar. Love attracts love.
