How has your sarcasm or other smart *ss humor been misinterpreted and taken offense at?

i have a reputation so no one takes offense unless they don't know me. they just say, "oh, well that's dee, she's crazy!" somehow i can get away with saying literally just about anything. no matter how mean, sick, perverted, wrong or evil.

I have hurt or insulted people when I was least expecting to. More a matter of I just don't see things the way many people do.

trixiegirl girl I agree! It's just moments of wit! Just sometimes I let it slip out at the wrong time. You know when people say "Don't be such a smart @$$" You say "Would you want me to be dumb?" Or something like that. Most times it happens to me It just slips out without me really thinking it through

Being the funniest guy at work ( or so told ) has it's drawbacks - smartassitis.
It's spreadable, untreatable, grows on people, and eventually results in angry glares your way.

in the history of the world, many have died at the hands of an insulted, albeit misguided, retalitaitor. words can cut worse than any sword, so be careful and wise as to how you use them.

When it hasn't been misinterpreted or taken offense at, I have to admit a sense of slight disappointment.

For every sarcastic remark that offends someone, there's 25 more lip marks on their a$s to make up for it. So no one really gets down for too long. And it just gives the professional smart a$s enough time to load up the cannon again.

Once I asked this guy I was friends with about his Brown University T-shirts. He wore one every time we had a dress down day (We had uniforms). So I decided that I knew him well enough and that he could take a joke. After class I walked with him and said "So, I noticed you wear a Brown shirt every time you dress down. Do you have one for everyday of the week or something?" That's when I found out he couldn't take a joke. He was obviously insulted even though he tried to hide it. I did what I could to recover the moment, but I failed.
