I'm confused by your question. What's a "temporary"? Like a relationship with an expiration date?

If you don't want to be in the relationship and you don't have much invested in it (and it sounds like you don't) then don't be in it. What are you waiting for?

I dated one man for about 9 months, a woman for about a year. I've been dating my fiance for 4 years.
