How long should a severe nosebleed last in a healthy person?

My pal lost ''half a pint'' of blood in two hours (it stopped after two hours) and I knew a girl who lost the same amount, hers lasted for three hours. So I am wondering is this how long a severe nosebleed can last unless you have a blood clotting disorder? 2-3 hours max?
