Resolved Question

How long should I stay single?

I left a 5 year relationship about 9 months ago. I have been single since, live alone, and now I am getting really lonely. Should I consider looking for a serious relationship so soon? I feel ready.

Don't rush into anything. Better to be on your own than with the wrong person.

When you say you feel really lonely, do you mean you just want company or you need to feel the love of another person?
If you just want company, get out more with friends and enjoy doing what you want, when you want while you can.
If you feel ready to start another relationship, then be open to meeting people. Don't just fall into the arms of anyone though, you've only been single 9 months. See a few people if you want, but let them know obviously!
My personal opinion is that it's too soon to be starting another serious relationship, you may fall into the trap of a rebound relationship. But if you REALLY feel it's time, then that decision is yours alone. Only you truly know how you feel.

Until you are happy as a single person; then you are ready to enter a relationship.

Only you know when the time is right. Don't let others tell you when you are ready! If you are then GREAT for you :-) Good luck in your search!!

I've been single for 5 years. Stay single until you find the right one for you. Don't rush into anything because it is too damn expensive to cater to someone who doesn't care! I know! Been there too many times....Find the one person you are meant to be with. It's taking me forever, but I know I'll find him...:)

Seeings you feel ready to explore a new realationship I would suggest you get yourself back out there again and remember what its like to date again and enjoy meeting new faces....Just have fun and enjoy being single till you find someone you would like to spend more time with.

You should stay single as long as it takes to find someone you are sure you want to become a couple with.

If you are feeling lonely, than date... you don't have to partner off with someone just to have company and have fun. When you date the right guy, you'll know. :)

You are your own master and remember that. If you decide the time is right then go if not you will feel that and have the power to discontinue anything.
The choice is your freedom and you need to do what you want.
Its not wrong to need someone and its not right that you need someone of you don't.
Be yourself I'll support you both ways and remember what have I to do with it...nothing... it is your life be yourself and love yourself first

As long as you want. I was in a twnty three year relationship and was cheated on. Then with one other person and couldn't stand how he treated his mother. now I have been alone for eight years this summer. Have three cats and good friends that keep me company. Safer then being with someone I can' trust wasting my life. I'm in my fifties and realized how many years I wasted my life on someone who didn't really love me. That's worse then being alone.

You should stay single.... Until you get married.....hehehehe

Does not matter just how long.....If you are lonely now... Well go out and make some friends..... But do not go looking for some special....For if you do that... You will never find him.... Let him find you.... And in the mean time.... You have made some great friends....But if he never finds you.... You have still made some great friends

Until you're sure you are completely over the last relationship...you wouldn't want to take baggage into the next one......Make sure you have dealt with all the issues that lead up to that break-up...and that you understand what went wrong, and your part in it.....that way, you'll learn from that experience, and it will make you a better person, for the next lucky person.
