i never really look at the exp. date. i see if the bread has mold or is smelly.
After 3 days if we havent eaten it all I put it in the freezer for toast.
If you put enough jelly on it you will never know right?
Until it turns green and moldy.
As long as there's no visible mold and it doesn't smell funky.
I don't take noticed of the dates, only the green moulds lol<br />
Once theres moulds, bye bye bread hehe
I'm usually like OCD about expiration dates, but with bread, I'd probably just check to make sure there's no mold on it.
I dont like to eat bread after 5 days old on a whole... so you cant get me to eat expired bread.
usually no more than four or five. after that i find it starts to get hard and gross. often we freeze it before it expires so it lasts longer.
I wouldn't eat it if it's moldy. We own a bagel shop, and we don't use any preservatives in our bagels, so they tend to 'turn' faster than store bought, but we slice and freeze them, and they last a long time like that.
Till it goes hard! and GREEN!
It would depend on what sort of condition it was in. If moldy, forget it. If dry (possibly) toast it. The date would be only a general guide.
As long as there is no mold on it.
I usually don't look at the expiray date, but if it's green/ grey I throw it away.
When it gets a furry green rash, chuck it in the trash...
