How many pounds of cigarettes did you smoke in your life?

going to guess that, in the last 2 years (not counting this one) I had been as high as a bit over 1k usd (around 600 pounds) a year in costs ... that counting using the canned tobacco and rolling tubes/machine.

I said not counting this year because as of april of 2008 I put them down. I went from 3 packs a day to none. I didn't just up and quit, though, mind you. I used Chantix for 6 weeks (without any of the adverse stuff ppl keep telling me they hear). Despite the pharmacist's insistence that I should stay on it 6 months or I'd likely be smoking again from a relapse I still dropped it after 6 weeks.

I figure this is a weight question but to really hit home look at the monetary(dollars or pounds) figure.

If you smoked since the 90's at least, I would put the per pack figure at $4. That would account for the hike recently.

That's a good question. I really don't know and am not sure I would want to; cigarettes themselves are really light but I imagine they add up pretty fast.
