How many times do you check your alarm to make sure it's on before you can go to bed?

I check it over and over and over again. And then I wake up in the middle of the night and check again.

Several times. Doesn't stop me from sleeping through them on occasion (I can tell they're turned off, alarm clock has been moved, but don't remember turning them off.), funny how an angry call from my boss never fails to wake me up.

I don't do that, what usually happens is I set it, wake up a few hours later, KNOWING I need all the sleep I can get, then 1 hour before the alarm rings, I'm finally able to sleep again. I don't understand why that happens either.
