    does it take to do what? I never took ambien, so if you're asking about getting to sleep.. probably the other people who answer who are familiar with it are who you should listen to.

    if you're meaning to kill yourself... I can tell you that no amount benzodiazepine (which ambien is in that category of seditives/tranquilezers) will kill a healthy adult....

    it takes 2 for my wife to scribble on the bedsheets with a permanent marker.
