How much does your upbringing influence your understanding of the difference between right or wrong as an adult?
I was thinking about the communities of gypsies we have in my area in Italy. Most of them are taught to steal and lie since they are children. No later than yesterday I saw one of them shoplifting again....can culture really brainwash you that much? Don't they understand that stealing is not only against the law, but morally wrong?

We're either a complete rejection or acceptance of everything that our parents instill in us, so it's quite possibly the strongest influence in our lives.

We were brought up with the understanding that when you did good you got a reward, when you did bad you got punished.

A great deal. If in no other respect, you consider, practice makes perfect.
Repetition confirms what we know. Be it right or wrong.
