Things aren't very straightforward anymore & it's a tad harder to be real with yourself.Plus some folks have turned into digital zombies which has spawned an unhealthy form of communicating, especially with friends, families, colleagues, etc.

I really miss some of those 1980s values....humans could sure use them again in the 21st century. :(

For the last 40 years automation and outsourcing have replaced jobs faster than they create them and wealth concentration has increased 400%. The rich have gotten richer, the poor poorer, and the middle class struggles harder than ever just to keep their heads above water. Despite Bush sending the entire world economy down the toilet the international conglomerates and banks are still raking in record profits.

In addition conservative America has been fighting a losing battle to maintain this state of affairs. Civil rights, women's rights, abortion rights, expanding entitlements, and now even gay marriage and marijuana. With the reelection of Obama 40 years of conservative domination in American politics is coming to an end. The south lost the civil war and now at long last they losing the culture war. Antebellum small government politics and Victorian values that benefit farmers are now giving way to the needs of a more urban society.
