I think that the most snow I've ever had to deal with/drive in was about 9 inches.
I did pretty well, actually, and I drove about twenty miles through foothills. It surprised me how many cars we passed that had gone off the road. I'm a southern gal, but I adapted pretty well.
When the snow gets to a few inches, most of the area around here shuts down....at least until they can salt and clear the roads. School closes if there is an inch or two....because the mountain roads are too dangerous for the buses.
