How much stock to you put into the compatability of astroligical sighns?

About as much as I put in the idea that people are all good.

As far as myself and my mate of 23 years....not at all. We are both Scorpio's and not supposed to make it beyond sexual healing ! Believe me, the sex went to the way side a looooooong time ago.

I have to agree with Kilyra... Sometimes the traits do seem to match but again, you interpret something the way you want to.. but I will say this... it is always said for me to stay away from a specific sign... I didnt know about it until after two of my worst relationships.. haha.. and they were both that sign...

I would never trust my love life to the astrological signs.

Also, if you tattoo your boyfriend's Chinese zodiac symbol of a dog right above your butt, you're bound to get made fun of.

astrology is superstition, just a bit of fun, like fortune cookies.

Why would you let real world decisions be affected by superstition?

Any advice I gave you would be to ensure that you had as much benefit from your reading as possible and so it depends a little on what you are hoping to gain. eg. if you wanted to check out several potential new boyfriends in order to discover the likely "best choice" I would suggest that you really do not bother... this kind of compatabilty "quick-yes-or-no?" is not the primary function of astrology.
That you refer to compatability of signs as you do, as though astrology is a tool to determine and define compatability just based on sign: no! This sets off an alarm warning me "alert! little knowledge of astrology" so what I or any astrologer would do is explain why your question (as it is phrased here) would not be designed to recieve a detailed repluy and then you would benefit little or not at all; a lose-lose situation.
If you are a beginner, as I think, then unless you are intending to study astrology so you can eventually become a great reader, treat it as fun only: it cannot help any more than a daily newspaper column.
If you posted a further question asking is astrology any good for anything, for instance, I could then be specific.
Astrology is excellent if used correctly! ....and by an excellent reader! Otherwise, remember, I am not telling you in the slightest that it does not "work" but that it is complicated to get the proper meanings if you do not know how.

If you notice, every single astrology site as well as even the paid fortune tellers always have a disclaimer that this is all just for fun. I think that tells you how seriously to take it, even from those who have the highest reputation.

In life there are a million ways you can focus and have your life unfold. Your sign is supposed to be able to tell you what your main focus should be for that day. So even though all pisces for example all will share the same focus they live their lives out in different circumstances and therefore no two people even with the same astrological sign will have the exact same outcome or life. There seems to be some logic to astrology, but I haven't studied it enough to know if there is anything beyond it than what America uses it for: another capitalistic venture to rob people of their fortunes.

Astrology shouldnt be used as the rules for your life. Astrology should be viewed more as a guide that can be interpreted in many different ways. There is so much to astrology that not all people understand, sure most people know their sun sign, but thats not all that good astrologers take into account in giving a completely personal reading. Your moon sign has a lot to do with your personality too. That being said, the tradition astrological matches arent always that accurate.

You can put much stock in compatibility of astrological signs (or astrological readings) IF the astrologer knows what they are doing, and do it to sufficient depth.

The reason for this is that we humans have very largely lives that are programmed before we come into embodiment, and the planets' positions are taken into account and act as sign-posts of this programming to those who know how to interpret them.

It is an exact and an exacting science... magazines and newspapers cannot go into the fine detail and are too general to be accurate, although you might occasionally get some predictions that turn out to be true.

One needs the exact date-time and location to do a proper reading; often these, particularly time, are not known accurately. Then a skilled astrologer can ask you to describe some key events in your life so far, and working back from that, do a "rectification" and find the time of birth. That should tell you that it is an exact science.

Of course there are other factors than the planets' positions involved in a person's life. Furthermore, the astrological systems were designed for earlier times when most people did not move away from their locality or even country of birth nearly as much as they do today. Thus, the systems do not now cope with that as well as they were originally designed to do, I believe, so making them less accurate.

well i am supposedly not supposed to date cancers but i find that i really can't resist. it also says i should be with aquariuses & i never met any i clicked with. so i take it with a grain of salt tho it is highly entertaining to read the horoscopes.

Some of it must be true, if only by coincidence. It's too wishy-washy a subject to investigate scientifically anyway.

None whatsoever it's fun to read but thats it.
