How much trouble to my computer is a whole lot of photos.. and what's the best way to sort?

I set up folders, in "My Pictures" and sort and group the pictures by folders names ie: Christmas 2008, 65th Birthday, Beach Trip 09 etc.

anardun	Posted Jul 4th, 2009 at 10:20AM well you can use programs like "picasa" which you can use to organise them by tabs and search them easier. Or you can do it the old fashioned way, of creating folders (and sometimes folders within those folders, etc) and naming them, and then placing the pictures you want inside those folders (like a "2009" folder, and inside that folder have "January" "vacation" "school" "dog" or whatever topics you have pictures for, etc). Or you could organise by event, date, topic, friends, family, hobbies, etc Rated: +1Vote for this!
void00	Posted Jul 6th, 2009 at 12:06PM It depends on the size of the photos. High resolution photos can take up a lot of memory, so unless you have a massive hard disk it could fill up pretty quickly. You may notice your computer starts working more slowly than usual. Rated: +1Vote for this!
AmayaEkio	Posted Jul 4th, 2009 at 10:13AM It depends on your computer's memory capacity but I'm sure it would take thousands of photos to take up enough memory to effect your computer and I agree with PeedeeDog,just make folders in 'My Pictures' and drop the pictures that go together into the folders.Easy. :) Good luck sorting and whatnot. :) Rated: +1Vote for this!
