people you know or Friends on EP have a General sense if your serious most of the time so it makes it difficult for something meant as a joke or sense of humor and may react as if your still Serious , Seriously , ha ha couldn't resist

I think it's happened before. Most of the time my humor is so outlandish and off the wall that it's pretty easy to recognize. Having said that, sometimes, "I'm just kidding" is a good way to defuse a potentially heated discussion, or to prevent stepping on toes.

often and by me once in a while.. but they dont have much humor in them :/ so its hard to tell . and some are just written badly grammar wise so you have to wonder at the real age and mentality of them :P
