How often will I get to talk to my marine when he is deployed to afghan?

Honestly, its not something one can tell u for certain. He could call u everyday, or everyother or once a week or once a month. Honestly sometimes they get too busy to call, or the phones arent working, or they arent allowed to call out... I know it sucks but its how it is. Just be patient and take it a day at a time. But please write him daily, send pictures and carepackages... They do help out the soldiers a lot... and also please TRY NOT TO CRY when he does call, or u get to video chat. It just makes it harder for them. And if he calls and u miss it, dont beat urself up, he will call again and he will understand- and make sure to answer those calls that come from freakin weird numbers.. i used to get 16 digit numbers popping up on caller id when my husband would call... good luck

Depends on how often and how long he goes into the field. But...keep cards and letters going, even when he can't call or (hopefully) email he can still get mail. and letters from home are lifelines.
