Old is a state of mind. Yes the body fails..and sometimes the mind. But the heart... the part that makes us who we are is what defines "old".

I know twenty somethings that creak and groan more than my grandmother did at 98. And my gram's could and did laugh and have wit and share wisdom and joys with us til the end. I never thought of her as old.

So... to paraphrase "old is as old does"

levin60kitty	Posted Feb 5th, 2009 at 5:58PM Lets see - when I was twenty, thirty five or forty was old. When I was forty, sixty was old. Now that I am sixty, eighty is old. Hell, I don't know the answer to your question. I guess it depends on how old one is. Rated: +1Vote for this!

greenali1986	Posted Jan 16th, 2009 at 4:12PM Well, a girl I baby-sit for once asked me if I was an adult. At this point I was about 19 or 20 and she was about 6 or 7. My response was "I like to think I'm not." Then I asked her mom what she thought and she said something similar. After a minute or so, Maeve said "I think you have to be 80 in order to be an adult!" Ever since then, Maeve's Rule has stuck and I have told that story many times! :) Rated: +1Vote for this!

BuckRockstrong	Posted Feb 5th, 2009 at 5:58PM 45 and older is middle age, 65 is elderly, and OLD is 80 +. I am pointing to the way you spelled OLD with all capitals. Anyone who tells you OLD is anything less than 80 is just being mean, and 80 should be the bare minimum a person can justify classifying someone as seriously old. Rated: +1Vote for this!
qazrazl	Posted Feb 5th, 2009 at 5:58PM 92 (According to my Grama anyway. She said she still felt inside the way she did at 22 but physically everything fell apart so she was DONE and ready to go. Then she did.) I've known people in their 20's who behaved as though they were elderly and people in their 60's fit and healthier and more vibrant than when they were 25. Old is a state of mind.
