I'm a man, so on that scale stubbing my toe would rate as a 5, which would rate a brazilian wax at about a 24.

It depends on a lot of factors, actually. Obviously your pain threshold. But also your menstrual cycle influences the pain factor as well. And also depending how long/course your hair is. It doesn't hurt me at all anymore. Sometimes i flinch but i'm so used to it now, plus my hair is pretty fine. Some women think it's the most painful thing they've ever endured (wuss's :P) so it really all depends....... Personally, i think the pain is SOOO worth it though! You will feel so much better having had it done, trust me. =)

My guess: 10.

With childbirth being a ten, and stubbling your toe being a 1, I'd put full wax at a 5. It is over quickly but hurts like hell.

My wife has never had one but if she did I don't suppose it would hurt me at all!

Yeah... a five or a six using autimom's rankings... but that also leaves out the embarrassment factor of having someone waxing you in places... well.... and you holding yourself in positions... um... and pulling your skin down there into tight positions and .... forget it! Once was enough!

Okay think about this... You are ripping hair out of a delicate area, so rip several strands of hair from your head at the same time and multiply that by 10. There is how it is going to feel.

I think on a scale from 1-5 it's a 4, but it's not a lingering pain, it only hurts for a second.

It's about a 3-4 depending on the Esthetican? It's worth it if you have corse hair like me. It is better to deal with the pain then having to shave every other day!!!

About a 3. Not something I'd want to do every day, but not the end of the world. I'd equate it to pulling out your nose hairs.

I don't find it to be too bad at all. Like BettyValentine said, sometimes I flinch, but that's about it.

You do it just straight? Nothing first? Even a shot of tequila? Wow! You guys are tough.

Actually, there's a gel or cream that numbs the area. They put that on for a few minutes, wipe it off with a warm wet cloth then put the wax on.
After each time, your hair grows back thin until it finally almost gives up then you don't have to do it so often. And you don't need to use the gel anymore.
