How safe is it to use baking soda for the relief of heart burn?
While I've used tums, rollaids, and other anti-acids, I find the most effective way to combat the issue is to down a bit of baking soda mixed in with water. I don't use very much mind you, .5 - 1tsp per day maybe.. is there any danger in this??

I've never heard a bad word about it, and I wouldn't be afraid to do it. In the long run, all that sodium might be as bad for you as eating table salt, but I don't really know.

I use bicarbonate of soda, use the handle end of a teaspoon & get a small amount into a cup & fill with boiled water & drink slowly as hot as possible. It works.
And dont eat late at night because it is mostly caused through food not digesting
