if you don't actually want to solve the underlying issues...

sleeping pills can help, but my experience of them is that i built up resistance after a week of use. rather than up the doses i just stopped...

weed is a very good, but lazy solution. however, i find it hard to wake up the next morning...

alcohol can work, but it is much, much more intoxicating relative to how tired it makes you than weed or sleeping pills. however, i also don't get hangovers so i'm not sure if that really works in general.

It takes around 7 minutes to fall asleep, that is if you are totally relaxed of course. If you're not feeling good about yourself and keep worrying then you won't get a good night's rest.

In the long run that can only be resolved by dealing with your problems and solving them .Now i don't know why you feel lonely but I'm sure you have friends or other people that you can count on. So you're never trully alone. Talk to them, go out, meet new people. Your lonelyness will soon be over.

To get some sleep this instant, there is something else you can do. Just lay down, calm yourself and tell yourself a story. This may sound silly but it really works! Use your imagination, you can be an actionhero, a superstar, anything you want. This way you can get your thoughts to focus on something else and you'll be fast asleep before you know it!

:) thanks, i will try all the tips given here, well i only feel lonely at night coz during night time when i am about to sleep is the time when i am inactive, doing nothing and my mind having a marathon, keep thinking about what bothers me.. yeah i guess to think about the story is much better than to think about my problems and my loneliness. Thank u.

It's shortened for "could," it's spelled phonetically.

The way I get to sleep at night is by literally putting each part of my body, toes up, to sleep. Doing this takes focus, and I can ignore the loneliness for that much time. Then when I get to my head, I lay there and be present. I explore the sleeping parts of my body, and their peaceful slumber spreads to my head. This might not help you, I've been told by so many people that it's weird and it shouldn't work like that, but you could try listening to music or peaceful sounds. When I'm not forcing myself to sleep, I hide from myself on the internet on sites such as this one and immerse myself in helping others.
