The human mind is supposed to feel sad for reasons and happy for reasons. If you want to be happy when you're supposed to feel sad, you're screwing yourself up. Let the sadness run its course and try to understand the sadness.

listen to an upbeat song, call a good friend, get outside and do something, say hello to a person who doesn't get out much, bring flowers to a neighbor or someone in a hospital
