I don't know. If you find an answer, let me know, because I could do with it. People will tell you not to drink, take a hot bath before going to bed, milky drinks, all that jazz, but what you really need is a full-frontal lobotomy to stop that mind was spinning. I read a lot. It helps to distract me, until I am so exhausted sleep comes to claim me like that man with the funny mask and the cart taking plague victims away.

    I'm so sorry.

Recently I watch old episodes of shows I've missed on my laptop. I can put it on the bed and fall asleep. Plenty of room on the bed now. :/

Have someone you trust come over you hold you and cry yourself to sleep on their shoulder.

Poor girl! I don't know how to tell you to sleep, not a good time for sleeping. Try to do something fun that distracts you and wears you out and then go to sleep.

It would need time to heal, because theres no super glue to put the pieces back. Could distract yourself but, how long will that last? still its a good place to start.

Run. The mind is a persistent little bastard and evolved to punish the heartbroken relentlessly, but if you can't stop thinking, you may find a strange peace in pounding the pavement until the body succumbs to exhaustion. Usually followed by a pretty decent rest but the worst reawakening.
