My sister has/had bulimia.. The first few times she stopped all alone, but always eventually relapsed. This time she is getting help with overcoming her bulimia. Its a long and hard process for her... she has actually asked us to check on her if she excuses herself to the bathroom after a meal. She knows herself and she knows she will relapse if she doesnt have the help and support of her family and friends... I would say if doing it alone, write about it in your journal. It may help you..

I did it alone, but then I realized that everyone was willing to help if I would've let them.
You're not alone.

*Hug* I have struggled with eating disorders since my teenage years. I stopped it the first time alone because I was moving in with my boyfriend and did not want him to know I was a basket case. I quit my eating disordered behavior cold turkey and started eating whatever I wanted. I gained 50 pounds. Then, I lost those 50 pounds by living a healthy lifestyle: counting calories, whole foods, and 1-2 hours of exercise every day.

Unfortunately, I relapsed a few years later. I found it impossible to do alone this time and sought a therapist. Now, I am on Prozac and back on my healthy regime again. Some pieces of advice I can give you: remember your health is very important. You WANT to stop this. Every time you have the urge to binge or purge, write about it. Write stories, songs, poetry, anything. Remember you can't live like this forever, nor will you feel like this forever.

...and whatever you do, THROW OUT YOUR SCALE! NEVER weigh yourself; doing so just sets you up for a pattern of compulsive behavior.
