How would you react?

My sisters and I had thrown around the idea to throw my mother a mariachi (fiesta) type SURPRISE party 5 months prior to this incident I'm about the share with you.

My cousin took it upon herself to propose the idea to my mother, and my mothers sisters, to throw MY mother this very same thing. At no time did she consult with any of my siblings nor I. I don't think she knew what we were planning and don't really think she would do this on purpose, but it's just strange that she would bring it up without consulting her aunts children, and so far in advance. My mothers birthday is 8 months away so it kinda feels like someone was trying to get the jump on this idea. At least it feels like it.
She sent out emails stating how the idea was thrown around coming back from a trip they were on. Another adventure that none of her kids are ever invited to even though they go every year.

So now I guess I'm suppose to respond, but how? If I'm against it, they'll make me look like a bad guy.

Let THEM take care of the party and then you can just sit back with Mom and ENJOY...(at the end of the party...show her this question)

That is such a blessing! :-) Maybe try letting your cousin know (in an airy manner) that your sisters and yourself were discussing a fiesta surprise party for your mom for some time before she mentioned it - and isn't that just a hoot that she came up with the same idea?! Also ask her kindly to give your siblings and yourself a call before any big plans are made - as it is good etiquette. :-) Rated: +1Vote for this!
