why give them the easy way out? keeping them in jail for life is much more of a punishment than killing them.

People who kill other people believe that killing other people is acceptable, so a hanging is morally acceptable by his or her own moral values. Those should govern.

In the case of rape and pedophiles, if you were going to get the death penalty or life for any or your first offence, then the murder rate goes through the up, because if you were going to get such a high penalty regardless you would therefore kill the victim to hide the evidence better..

Actually, the lawyers and judges took advantage of the people against it and they actually steal more resources now than it takes to feed the jailed for the amount of time they live. Go figure. It is intensely evil? Yes, but what did you expect from people that are okay with dropping bombs on families but wring their hands in fear at killing a rapist?

I agree with you except, at least in the states, the death penelty carries one are more automatic retrials( brain dead, can't think of legal term )
and after 2 or 3 and ten years wasted it's just as expensive as a life sentence.
