    Give a man a label and you don't have to understand him anymore. I will say, being proud of labels is an empty enterprise.

    rare that you've come out of the closet about it, at least. i don't think the party pandered to the churches nearly as much a few elections ago as it does now

    Well... I can understand being a fiscal conservative, and if that is most important to you, then you might identify yourself as republican... But their social conservatism is usually based on some religion... Just wondering how that works for an atheist republican...
