I love this song!!! I worked in my parents record store for almost 30 years. Great job to begin at 12 years old....listening to all kinds of music day after day (another great song), and getting paid to do so.
'When I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy, In the company of strangers in the quiet of the railway station running scared, Laying low seeking out the poorer quarters where the ragged people go, Looking for the places only they would know'
"I squandered my resistance / For a pocketful of mumbles such are promises / All lies and jest / Still a man hears what he wants to hear / And disregards the rest"
They are so brill. Im so glad I was old enough when to appreciate them when they were first released.
I am in the mood for oldies now.Want to trade oldies songs?
