Unless your drinking it 'straight', it doesn't much matter. As to 'Red' label, isn't that Johnny Walker, and isn't that Scotch? If your going to go Johnny Walker, Black label is better, and Blue label is "the Best".

whiskey made in Scotland is known as Scotch.
Johnny Walker - Red Label - AVOID..
Chivas Regal / JW Black Label - Blended Scotch. Mid-range price.
Famous grouse / Teachers / Grants - Low range - smooth n fine.
Bowmore - Single malt.. High price.

"Looking and planing". You can't even spell it so what does it matter? And what's planing?
Red labels are wonderful but you can't drink them. Whiskey is hard alcohol, serious drink for serious drunks. Enjoy.

Since this is for family and the Holidays, then Chivas Regal is the absolute best.

Johnny Walker is ok for a blend. I prefer a good single malt from one of the isles.

jameson is an excellent irish whiskey, jack daniels is an excellent sour mash whiskey, and johnny walker red or black is of course a great choice for scotch. dewars also makes a nice scotch.

Johnny Red is okay for mixed drinks, you might want to spend a little more if you're serving it on its own.
It's all good, in moderation ... how much do you like the ppl you are drinking with? Buy a half dozen bottles, collect everybody's car keys and have a contest to choose your favorite one. Make a big breakfast with lots of bacon for everyone in the morning.

Red Label is a blended scotch and it's crap. For good whiskey, look for Four Roses.

If your asking then you obviously don't drink much whiskey. Stick with a blended and well known whisky (like crown royal).
