I called in sick to work...what now?

Yesterday and today I called in sick (didn't feel like going to work, I'm depressed, hate my job).
I only called in today because I thought that being sick for one night/day would be more suspicious but now I'm thinking I might've made a mistake...what do you guys think?
*By the way I know fake calling in is bad, I shouldn't do it, it's dishonest, blah, blah! I needed a little break, everyone deserves a little break once in a while...and there's plenty people to cover for me.

Don't worry about it. Just take your "mental health day" and relax. I've not known 1 person who HASN'T taken a personal day for this reason. (Try not to make a habit of it; otherwise, a new job is in order.) Oh...don't go to any place where you might meet a co-worker or a boss...and if you DO, I hope you can bullshit on the fly. ;-)

If you need the day off to regroup, then take it.
What now you ask? Why not take today to look for a new job?

Been there, done that... bought the t-shirt. Seems taking the day has stressed you out more than benefited you. Relax, you can't undo the two calll-ins. Regroup and take on tomorrow. I've experienced depression so i understand it's a lot easier for me to type that than it is for you to do it... But you can do it....

And if you hate your job... take steps to find something else. It might lead to a better job, or maybe you'll come to appreciate the one you have - I know you probably didn't like that suggestion. Either way, maybe taking action to fix the problem will help with the depression... small steps at first if you like... read the want ads... create a profile at monsterjob or other jobsite.

What now? Well you could either go back to work tomorrow, or fake your own death.

Since you've already called in, I'd suggest you go outside and play!

Enjoy it this time and wait a while before doing it again or you'll really feel bad.

Well, when you run out of sick days, you can always call in DEAD. Of course, you can only use THAT excuse once! LOL

Nothing wrong with calling in sick once in a while. Especially if your sick days are "use them or lose them." What should you do with those days off, you ask? Whatever the he** you want to do! That's the beauty of sick days. Sleep late, mosey over to the coffee pot, slowly nurse 2 cups of coffee while surfing the net in your pajamas, take a shower at around noon, then...well...you fill in the rest.

Most jobs give vacation times for when you need a break. I myself have called in sick to work in the past though when I did not feel like going in but only for one day. For now you called in so do not feel guilty about it but enjoy your day off.

You might want to consider finding another job since you hate this one so much.

But.... if the weather is pretty where you are today.... I'd go outside and enjoy it .... preferably to the lake, ocean, river.... you get the picture. And I wouldn't worry about the job situation until later.... Of course, you might have a tough time explaining the tan at work tomorrow..... lol.... might have to take another day off for that! ha

Most workplaces in Australia allow 10 days with pay for

sickness!...SICKIES!....

If off over a day,you must produce a sickness certificate

from the doctor!

Well if you wanna keep your job I suggest you go to a nurse practitioner and at least get a doc slip..That way you're covered...I've done that a few times.

i wouldn't worry about it. what's done is done. my job has been cracking down on call ins lately but, luckily, i have enough vacation time to take days off every month and i take full advantage of it.
