I cancelled a dermatologists appointment out of fear of having a skin biopsy ..cuz the Dr is male
the biopsy has to be taken from a personal area and I would rather go to another doctor ...a female ... I am afraid of having local anesthetic in that region as well...
WHAT SHOULD I DO? I am in pain and worried ...! but scared...

Just called up the male doctor and explain to him you want a female doctor,that would make you more comfortable and can he recommend someone?That way he can tell all the details to the other doctor and pass all the papers over to her.I have the same thing,i ONLY trust a female doctor.I have never felt comfortable with a man doc.He should understand.And if he don't,call up your insurance and have them recommend a female doc in your area.Go talk to the the other doc.and explain to her why you wanted to switch,trust me,it's nothing they have'nt heard before,no need for embarrasment.She can call over to the other office,and get the records sent to her office,and can make you an appointment.
