sounds like he's confused. guys take a while to figure out their feelings. guess we do too. dont worry. it feels like hell now, but one day you'll realise this is actually part of the fun of it all - courtship is a dance :) just dont sit around waiting for him. if he's the one, he'll be wanting you around too.

I think you're too concerned with his reaction. He probably feels empowered that you're constantly checking him out to see if he's noticing you, which can give guys a big ego. My advice: Nothing would get to his attention more than ignoring him altogether. Play the same game and don't act interested. Don't try to make him jealous, either, by flirting with other guys. That's just immature. Soon, he'll either be missing your attention so much that he'll bug YOU about it, or if in the case he's not interested, go his separate way with relief.

This guy is not ready for anything near, around or even similar to a relationship. He's messing with your head, trying to figure out his own feelings.
When a guy is in such a stage, he'd love it for you to initiate everything but at the same time would hate you for taking all the first steps.

A relationship is supposed to make you happy, if you don't feel good around him, face that fact. No matter how you feel about him, how he feels and acts toward you will affect your own happiness. It doesn't sound like he makes you feel very good, that means it's time to let go. You can't make him change, you will never be able to make a man change. Love him the way he is, be happy with the way he is, or get out and find someone you love the way they are, who loves you the way you are.

Maybe he's too shy to talk to you? I don't know for sure ... have you tried to talk to him? What would happen if you just stared back? Do you know him very well? ... if so, maybe you should just tell him you like him and see what he says?

It might be when he is staring at you, he is trying to think of a way that won't hurt you, if he should tell you it's over.You don't need someone who plays guessing games.Sure sometimes it is hard, but in the long run you will wonder what took you so long!

He's certainly not ready for you..ignore his behavior and see if that's what he wants.maybe he liks messing with your head. Move on.

Nerves? fear of rejection? fear of commitment? you just never know...maybe he's messing with your emotions...if I were you, i would test him to see if his feelings are real

He is acting this way because he is not ready- just like he told you. Just chill and wave hi and don't overwhelm him- gradually everyday just interact more and more with him and see what happens.

Blue sky guess: He finds you attractive and intimidating at the same time. Others have written about him messing w/ your head. Possible. Even more possible is you're messing with his head and you don't even know it. Teenage guys (I was one once) are such unbelievable dorks. We don't want to be dorks. Half the time we're scare shitless. Next time he's just staring at you, can't you make a seat for him next to you and nod your head for him to come over?
